Latest Trend Update by: Premium Interior Styling
We recently worked on a stunning property for D.R. Gordon Building, property styling with the theme Copper, Black and Luxury. As the inclusion of copper, brass and gold are starting to steal the show after stainless steel has for many years this project provided both us and the client a wonderful opportunity to highlight the elegance and beauty of the property; in readiness for its sale.
Furniture hire and property styling is one of the most effective ways to increase the appeal of your property and maximise your sale price. One of the first considerations when styling a property for sale is what the client’s love, what is their vision for their property and most importantly who is their target market. It is important to create an emotional connection with your potential purchasers and showcase your home to achieve the best result for you.
Inspired by our recent brief to include copper in the interior design we have some inspiration to use as a guide when using these metals. The classic metals of copper, brass and gold always add a rich layer of warmth and luxury to an interior. They especially look stunning when used in contrast to simple finishes of white, marble, wood, and black and grey highlights. There is a timeless elegance and chic to these beautiful metal tones when used considered in your interior.
Here are a few simple ways to bring the luxury of these beautiful soft metals; copper, brass and gold into your home:
Create a modern touch when using copper, brass and gold; it can be breathtaking, especially when used in lighting accents like pendants, standard lamps, and table lamps. These pieces when set against a neutral pallet stand out and create a very soft yet distinctive elegance. The warmth of their tones emit a rich gleam and sculptural weight. Inspired by the classic lighting designs of Tom Dixon and the local contemporary designers such as Coco Flip, copper and brass lighting has never looked so good!
Introduce copper and brass into your living room or bedroom with textiles. There are some beautiful options available in cushions and throws that have a copper metallic print in contemporary patterns, or even as a texture. This is a very cost effective way to bring a little warmth and glamour into your home. Again use these accessories against a neutral pallet, white, charcoal; blacks and greys work beautifully with metallic. Introducing a soft pallet of blush, pinks and glass also work beautifully back with copper especially; picking up its rose hew. You can mix and match these colours back with the copper accessories to help give your space a softer more feminine touch.
Copper Gold or Brass accessories are found in an array of shapes and sizes, providing both a decorative opportunity as well as a function. By using Copper vases, canisters and bowls your living room, dining table and kitchen will adopt the lustre of these pieces and let luxury in. We are loving the copper or brass wire baskets with their geometric forms to bring in contemporary form and function; offering a lighter / delicate way to introduce metallic.
Copper has natural antiseptic properties, and would you believe is able to destroy a wide range of bacteria, this is perhaps a very practical reason to introduce some copper into your interior and when considering the bathroom Copper toothbrush holders and soap dispensers are going to not only look amazing but work on a clinical level!
Copper used as an architectural feature wall or door looks incredible, mixed back with other textures; such as wood or cement, its weatherproof and corrosion resistant properties make using this metal both practical and stunning. Copper gets better with age; as it weathers it’s patina takes on a whole new life. If you are in the market to build or renovate and looking for a unique exterior detail then Copper is worth considering.
